Hello everyone,
Well, I am proud to say that I had a very good first day! No cheating!
When I woke up this morning, I kinda dreaded the fact that my diet had officially started. I knew that was not the right attitude to have so I quickly shoved those thoughts out of my head. We went to bed very late last night so my documentation will look weird. I have a bad habit of staying up too late and then over-sleeping (another thing I need to work on!). So this is how my day went so far:
I woke up at 11:00 am. I wasn’t too thrilled to start the day so I laid in bed til I turned the negative thoughts into positive thoughts. Before I went to bed last night, I put my “before” photos up right beside my bed so that when I got out of bed every morning, I would see it. I knew that would help keep me motivated to sticking with my diet and exercise plan. And I was right, it worked! One look at those pictures and I was determined to stick with my goals!
I made a healthy breakfast. We had 2 scrambled eggs, one piece of dry whole wheat toast, a banana and a glass of cold water to wash it down. It actually tasted pretty good!
I waited an hour and a half and did my cardio exercise. We bought a real nice stationary bike several months ago, so that is going to be my choice of exercise for the first week. So I did 30 minutes of interval training and burned 150 calories for a 6 mile ride. Boy did my legs feel like jelly after that! I can’t believe how out of shape I am!
Yesterday we bought some protein powder so around 3 pm we each had a shake and Don (my hubby) had an apple and I had a string cheese. I made sure to drink another glass of water after the shake to make me feel full. I know it is very important to drink at least 8 glasses of water so I am trying real hard to do that. I am also going to sip on some water inbetween meals to make sure I get close to my 8 glasses.
Around 7 pm, we ate dinner. I made ground turkey patties, steamed rice and a carrot & peas mix of vegetables. We are using frozen vegetables since fresh veggies are kinda pricey and we are trying to stay within our budget. Not to mention, we are trying to watch Don’s blood pressure since it’s higher due to his weight.
Well, all in all, we had a great first day! It wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be. But then again, late night is when I have my issues. I plan on drinking some green tea since it helps curb my appetite so I don’t anticipate on having any troubles.
If you are taking your own “weight loss challenge,” I wish you all the success! We all deserve to be in excellent health, so DON’T GIVE UP!!
Dream, Believe & Achieve!
